What nineteen rooms actually look like
Three condominiums, nineteen lettable rooms, and a price list that runs from S$600 to S$2,200 a month. Here is the whole portfolio written out, because a number is easier to argue with than an adjective.
A 30 sqm room in Jurong East lists at S$1,000. A 9 sqm room in Serangoon lists at S$1,500. Both prices are right, and the reason they are right is the whole argument for pricing the bundle instead of the floor.
Every room we let carries a three month minimum stay. Here is where that comes from, what it means for how the agreement is written, and what we actually do when someone has to leave in month two.
What it costs to move into one of our rooms, stated in full before anyone books a viewing. One month of rent as a deposit, the first month up front, and nothing else. There is no commission because there is nobody in the middle.
For a long time the booking site read a stored column and the calendar worked it out from the bookings, and the two quietly disagreed. Nineteen rooms is small enough to catch that by hand, which is exactly why it went on so long.
